In Tablas Island, Looc is famous for the production of kakanin products which have the distinct flavor and taste compared to other kakanin made in other municipalities. In fact, the local government had Suman Festival during Annual Town Fiesta enable to promote the kakanin products not only to local consumers and visitors but also to balikbayans and foreigners
During town fiesta, one of the regular activities is the Agri-Fair where other local producers showcased handicraft products (different sizes of baskets and bilao, nito plates, bags and others made up of indigenous raw materials like ingiw, nito, bago-bago, bamboo, buri, pandan leaves and dried banana stems. Being an agricultural municipality, other micro, small and medium entreprenuers had ventured another industry which is food processing of fish and meat products. Food processing is another industry that the locality has engaged into. Examples of goods produced are assorted dried fishes, bagoong, crispy seaweed noodles and others. Bottled sardines making is also being introduced during peak season because of the oversupply of fish in the locality. With regards to meat, surplus of beef and pork are being processed into longaniza, tocino, tapa and embutido enough for local consumption. Other livelihood activities undertaken in Looc are: swine raising, backyard poultry, goat raising other livestock production. The identified factors that hinder the development of the existing industries in the Municipality of Looc are lack of insufficient financial assistance from private and public sectors, inadequate technical and vocational training , depletion of raw materials and poor marketing linkages.
